Review:
I put it in a cast and vessel inspection in London last weekend: I'm not a big Bond fan, but I enjoy it in the popcorn alone, and this is definitely one of the best in recent memory. Show edgier and nastier than Brosnan film, harking back to Dr. No or For your eyes only. Excellent action sequences shot and edited for maximum effect and is one of the best of a Bond film. Martin Campbell, who also made Goldeneye, is a very good choice, and for me, was one of the best Bond director. What gives these bonds more recently lead more realistic taste: exotic locales, luxury cars, amazing action, beautiful women and all other Bond sites infected but funny show, say, Die Another Day. Yes, the whole franchise is based on the same concept is absurd and comic book, but a more serious tone and a more hard-edged works very well here. In this context, Daniel Craig gives an excellent performance as Bond. Ill be the first to admit that I have an eyebrow when I heard he was cast, but he really made it their own. It's hard to say whether he is better than any other Bond: Connery and Brosnan feels right for their style of the Bond films, as fits the overall tone of the film, Bond is more than a sadistic, cold killer with excellent taste little empathy and Craig, with his piercing eyes, according to a very good role. Hes nice and funny when necessary and absolutely convincing in the action sequences. Violence is less cartoon-like and rude with every punch, kick and shoot looks like they are really sick. And the story is just more interesting than many Bond films; script will not win the award, but a consistent and attractive design. Although the film has a pretty fair share of the action, the focus is the same in character and the story and less on tools and sheer disbelief. When there is not a great action sequence takes place, you will not miss it: old movies set-piece, a poker game in Casino Royale, as (or more) gripping and entertaining than any of the hunting and shooting-outs. The only small complaint I have is a little too long to run: the film drags a bit at the end, and while it helps the tone of the film, we hear not enough Bond theme song! However, great direction and performances of everyone involved, with Phil Meheuxs excellent cinematography, Peter Lamonts strengthen production design and all other leading craft and technical departments Casino Royale-style dinner, and a lot of fun from the movie.
