Of course, this film was a ton of hype, and the film could live up to all this .... Yada yada yada. Even allowing for that, this film is a bit of a disappointment. This film proves that it was not just special FX, who made Star Wars fun to watch. It seemed as if George Lucas was so excited about what he could do with CGI effects, he forgot what made the original trilogy so great, who has been writing and drawing. It's not a bad film, but the problem are've many.-Many would be powerless to forgive this film, as they say, that this is only the first of another trilogy, and it's easy to create all follow. WRONG WRONG WRONG, this film is a need to have your film mainly other three movies were. It is necessary to have good grades and a slightly interesting story .... It tells the story of conflict-didnt. trade dispute and the fate of the planet Naboo. Does anyone really care about this? The details of the dispute are somewhat vague, and it does not seem true to generate enough interest to us to cheer on a particular page. An important issue Darth Sideous and his home is kept far, far away in the background. We do not even know why Darth Maul Jedis hate so much .... he just does. Possible Lucas wanted Darth Maul to be a bit like Boba Fett (quiet and mysterious). He worked with Boba Fett, because he was the only one supporting character, not a great villain. This movie is really no clear villain. I wish someone would have had the courage and simply told Lucas that his main story was lousy.-one seems particularly fond of this movie. Qui-Gon is really the only character that can be related to, and even if it is quite a long distance. Queen works mannequin is a lot of his scenes (and looks like one). Obi-Wan Kenobi wander through the entire movie for nothing, and never say anything interesting. The characters do not seem to talk about anything but the plot (unlike the first film). C3PO and R2-D2 was pretty useless. Jedi Council seems to be a very cold and buracratic. And I can never understand why they wrote Annakin as elementary school kid in this movie. He must have been a teenager. His scenes of the queen was difficult. Not even going to discuss the Jar Jar.Various other stuff ... It midochlorians, things seem to have just turned on. Humor falls flat if you have a very small child. Annakin destroys the ship at the end of the trade, and Safvet all basically by accident! ILM and George Lucas seems to be so happy with their new CGI toys that they spent 95% of his time to perfect them. Frankly, I thought the FX Return of the Jedi was the sharper, more three-dimensional and less cartoonish. Nothing all that memorable, it seems to happen here. This film has perhaps never been as good as the hype, but it could easily have been a lot better than this. I waited so long for this movie, but the first time I saw this movie I was really sick in the middle of it.There are good moments. Pod race was fun, it was like a light saber battle at the end. There are some very nice special effects throughout. Hopefully Lucas was the only writer's block when he wrote it. Maybe he does not remember what other movies did such a good time Episode II. Although he seems to have been a failed title.
